Here are some films (and teasers of films) which I've seen at the Horror Fiesta film festival in Warsaw two years ago. It was a special ocassion for me because I was planning to make a film for that festival myself. Unfortunately we've never finished "Pub Infinity", but I would like to thank everyone who was involved in the project!
From the festival:
From left to right: Uisdean Murray, unidentified, Joseph Alberti, unidentified, Frazer Lee, Dylan Keeling, David Gómez and me!
The opening sequence:
Two films by a rising star of horror Frazer Lee, who is currently working on his new feature film Urbane and with whom I had the pleasure to spend the three subsequent evenings of the festival in a nearby pub. First of them being the brilliant ON EDGE…
… and RED LINES, which is IMHO worse of the two but thrilling nonetheless.
What can I say about this wonderful adaptation of Poe’s The Raven? Definitely the best I’ve seen… and I’ve seen many.
Probably the most bizarre film at the festival. Andrei Iskanov’s surreal, thought-provoking orgy of violence NAILS is not for the squeamish and I’m afraid I fall into this category. However, this didn’t prevent me from enjoying the unique images and the intriguing plot. I would love to see something between this film and Tetsuo: the iron man.
Speaking of squeamish people, I congratulate those who have managed to sit through the next film without looking sideways from repulsion. I’m not sure what to think about a film which deals with death and violence… and goes beyond everything you’ve ever seen. Actually, I think it was an enlightening experience to see AFTERMATH directed by the talented Nacho Cerda… but only once.
And here is another film by the same director: THE AWAKENNING. Hopefully less graphic.
These are all of the videos I have managed to collect from Myspace. Will we see another Horror Fiesta? Heck, who knows – I’m looking forward to it. Labels: Film |
